In all my paintings and drawings I strive to recreate the pet in which I am portraying, in both detail and the individual personality of each animal. My work always has a ‘drawn’ quality to it, as I am not simply aiming to copy a photograph precisely but rather to create an individual portrayal of a beloved pet that is wholly unique.
Apart from commission work I take a huge amount of pleasure in both painting and drawing wildlife, especially that of big Cats. A lot of my recent wildlife painting was actually created whilst I studied for my BA Hons degree in Fine Art at Reading University, for which I obtained a first class which I was immensely overjoyed ( and surprised!) with.
In regards to prints, all sizes are readily available with the smallest size offered being A5, and proceeding all the way up to A0. All prints are offered on high quality german-etching paper, and a mount is also optional.
Attached is a general price list if you are interested in having your pet either painted or drawn, which I offer in various mediums. When I first started taking commissions, I began with painting a ginger Persian Cat suitably named Romeo. This in turn led to me embracing the process of recreating each beloved pets' individual traits and allowing their personalities to shine through as a consequence. I never strive to simply recreate the image square for square, but to really focus upon what makes that pet unique and focus on those particular areas. I believe that photographs are there for a reason, and paintings and drawings should still maintain a uniqueness that builds upon their existing characters.
As well as pets, I offer portraits of family members, particularly drawings using charcoal as the primary medium. Just below is an example of one drawing I am currently working on. Both group and individual portraits are available on request.
From a young age I've always admired the animals that live in the wilderness of this planet. Big Cats especially I loved to paint, and Foxes and Wolves too remain powerful inspirations.
